Welcome to Tretiy Vzvod!

We are a small group of history enthusiasts who have reenacted many different time periods.  Our desire to recreate a generic early World War II Red Army infantry unit grew out of the sense that it was a grossly underrepresented area of the reenacting and living history hobby.

We enjoy every facet of the hobby and our interaction with our fellow living history and reenactment enthusiasts since some of us are involved with groups doing other time periods and even other areas of this time period.  We stress a high degree of accuracy in our interpretations whether it be camp life, drill and tactics or uniforms , equipment, and weapons.  We also stress safety in the handling of all our weapons, all of which are original to the period.

We try very hard to foster the kind of friendship and camaraderie that would be found in nearly every kind of military unit from the ancient world to the present, and hope that every one of our members and all who come into contact with us will carry away something positive from every event.

Most of our members hail from around the Mid-Atlantic states, though we have some members from as far north as Massachusetts, as far south as North Carolina, and as far west as Ohio.  If you are interested in joining our unit, see our “Membership & Requirements”, or if you are not in our area but still interested in Russian reenacting, feel free to contact us and we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
